Valvetronic Designs - BMW F30/F22/F36/F32 F-Chassis Axleback Valved Exhaust System

This is the V2 revision of Valvetronic Designs' electronic valved axleback exhaust for BMW's F-chassis 4-cylinder cars. It uses a new valve design, relocated hangers, and revised muffler internals for a more refined closed-valve sound, along with a new cast Y-pipe for improved flow and tone when the valves are open.

With the valves closed, the system stays close to stock-quiet. Open, it switches instantly to a raw, deep exhaust note with pronounced pops and snaps on overrun and aggressive downshifts. The electronic valves integrate with the car's factory driving mode selector, so valve behavior follows your drive mode the way the factory exhaust valve would.

Important Compatibility Information

4-cylinder F-chassis cars include a supplied adaptor pipe; Valvetronic Designs recommends welding this connection for maximum longevity rather than clamping it. Fitting this exhaust to a 4-cylinder car also requires the 6-cylinder dual-exit diffuser (or a modified factory diffuser) for the dual tips to sit correctly — the stock 4-cylinder diffuser is a single-exit design and will not present the tips properly.

B58/B46-equipped cars need a minor midpipe modification to fit; see Valvetronic Designs' B58/B46 midpipe modification guide before ordering.

Non-valved trims (220i, 320i, 420i) don't have a factory exhaust valve controller to plug into. BMP carries the Valvetronic Designs Electronic Exhaust Valve Harness to add that functionality on those cars.
