Precision Raceworks Bucketed Performance Fuel Pump - BMW E9x/E8x (Modular)
The Precision Raceworks Bucketed Performance Fuel Pump replaces the factory low-pressure pump inside the E9x/E8x fuel pump bucket with genuine Walbro pumps rated to flow up to 350% more fuel than stock, and every stage is 100% E85 compliant. Where most bucketed kits lock you into a single power level, this one is modular: you buy the stage that matches your build today and step up later with a Precision Raceworks pump upgrade module instead of replacing the whole assembly.
All six stages retain the factory Venturi effect inside the bucket, which is what keeps the pump fed at low tank levels and under sustained cornering loads, and every stage is available as a kit you assemble yourself or as a fully assembled drop-in unit.
Choosing Your Stage
Stage 2 (2.6 LPM): Single Walbro 450. Up to 575 whp on pump gas, 500 whp on 100% E85.
Stage 2.5 v2 (3.9 LPM): Single Walbro 535. Up to 650 whp on pump gas, 550 whp on 100% E85.
Stage 3 (5.65 LPM): Dual Walbro 450 pumps with the wiring and boost reference switch needed to run them. Up to 1,000 whp on pump gas, 850 whp on 100% E85.
Stage 3.5 (6.4 LPM): Walbro 450 plus Walbro 525, with wiring and boost reference switch included. Up to 1,100 whp on pump gas, 950 whp on 100% E85.
Stage 3.75 v2 (7.3 LPM): Walbro 535 primary plus Walbro 525 secondary, with wiring and boost reference switch included. Up to 1,150 whp on pump gas, 975 whp on 100% E85.
Stage 4 (8+ LPM): Dual Walbro 450 pumps inside the bucket plus a third Walbro 450 outside the bucket, with full wiring and boost reference switch. Over 1,300 whp on pump gas, over 1,150 whp on 100% E85.
All ratings are per Precision Raceworks and assume the Precision Raceworks In-Tank Fuel Filter & Regulator, described below, is installed alongside the pump.
Assembly Options
Kit Only (assembly required): You install the Walbro pump(s) into your own factory bucket assembly following Precision Raceworks' instructions. This keeps your bucket in the condition it was in when it came out of the car and avoids the cost and downtime of shipping it out for modification.
Fully Assembled (drop-in ready): Precision Raceworks builds the complete bucket assembly to order, typically within 2-3 business days, and ships it ready to install.
Required for Rated Performance
To reach the whp figures listed above, Precision Raceworks requires pairing this pump with the Precision Raceworks In-Tank Fuel Filter & Regulator (V2), sold separately.
Ownership Notes
Stage 3 and up run bucketless outside the factory Venturi for the added pump; keep at least a quarter tank of fuel during spirited driving and avoid sustained road course use with these stages, per Precision Raceworks.
Some European-spec vehicles may require reusing the original top hat due to differences in factory fuel-system hardware; Precision Raceworks' install guide covers this case.
No lock ring tool is included with any stage.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this pump "modular"?Each stage from 2 through 3.75 v2 can be expanded later with a separate Precision Raceworks pump upgrade module instead of replacing the entire bucket assembly, so you can buy for today's power goal and grow into a higher stage later.
Do I need the In-Tank Fuel Filter & Regulator to use this pump? You can run the pump without it, but Precision Raceworks' rated whp figures for every stage assume it is installed. Add the In-Tank Fuel Filter & Regulator (V2) to reach the advertised numbers.
Should I choose Kit Only or Fully Assembled?Kit Only keeps your own bucket housing and costs less if you are comfortable following Precision Raceworks' assembly instructions. Fully Assembled is built to order and ships ready to drop in, which suits owners who plan to have a shop install it.
Can I drive on a low tank with the higher stages?Stage 3 and up add pump capacity outside the factory Venturi. Precision Raceworks recommends keeping at least a quarter tank and avoiding sustained road course driving on these stages.
How do I know which stage fits my power goals?Pick the stage rated above your target whp with some margin, since real-world fuel demand varies with boost, tune, and ambient conditions. If you are unsure, contact your BMP Tuning rep.
